Recap of Wild Card Mistakes
After a 4-2 record in our Wild Card picks, we hope to improve our performance in the Divisional Round. Let’s examine the prior mistakes made during this round. The Buffalo Bills faced off against the Jacksonville Jaguars, winning 27-24. The Jaguars surprisingly strayed from their strong running game, which had previously challenged the Bills’ defense. Consequently, their passing game faltered, and MVP candidate Josh Allen’s relentless play was evident. The Eagles lost to the 49ers. The defending champions should have been able to handle the injured 49ers but their offence failed them. The passing game was no where to be found and there was a huge lack of effort. Nobody could have seen that coming.
Divisional Round Matchups
Buffalo Bills vs. Denver Broncos: We aim to avoid repeating the previous week’s mistakes. The Bills should secure a win in Denver, with Josh Allen showcasing his leadership and skill as the game unfolds. Despite the potential of the daunting Broncos defense, their offense lacks reliability, ultimately benefiting the Bills. My pick is the Buffalo Bills.
San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks: The key query centers around Sam Darnold and his ability to deliver under pressure. He might just manage to perform effectively with robust team support. Nevertheless, due to several injuries, the 49ers are likely to fall short, making the Seahawks my pick for this matchup.
Houston Texans vs. New England Patriots: With the Patriots scoring only three points last week against the chargers, this round poses an even bigger challenge. Drake Mayeโs impressive season will be tested against a strong Texans defense that is poised to protect a narrow lead and leave New England with a win.
LA Rams vs. Chicago Bears: Expect an offensive spectacle in this face-off. The LA Rams have displayed their explosiveness throughout the season, and with the strategic minds of Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay, they should outsmart the Bears. My pick leans towards the Rams.
